Scrapbook Santa Page DIY

Hello!
So last night I decided to make a little addition to my scrapbook to celebrate that its OCTOBER AND I CAN OFFICIALLY START BEING EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS LEGALLY.

I was also quite proud of how it turned out so of course I am going to make it into a blog. You know me.

For this recipe you will need:

  • Hole Puncher
  • Scissors
  • Red, black and yellow paper
  • Pencil
  • 30 cm ruler (the widest you can get)
  • The designated scrapbook
  • Glue
  • Buttons

First of all, measure the size of your scrapbook page. You'll want to know the width and the length to be able to cut out the necessary amount of paper.
Next on the list is the belt of Santa. The length of it should be the width of your page. If your ruler is wide enough, you can push it against the side and mark out the other side.
Once you cut out the long rectangle you should and up with some thing that looks like this. don't stick it on just yet though.
Now we're going to take care of  the red background which is the Santa's pants. Uhhhh I mean coat.
What I found was the easiest way to do is push the piece of paper right against where you want it to be and then putting the page over it to mark out the length. It comes out more precise than with measuring it with a ruler, well at least in my case.

Now if a single piece of paper won't fill out the whole page then just grab two and measure out how big each one will be.
Now cut them out to fit the page using the measurements from before and make sure you place the seam in the right place so that you can cover it up with the belt.
Now all you'll need to do is stick on the belt and the buttons. To add the small detail on the belt cut out three small circles in the yellow paper using the hole punch. Cut out a rectangle that is around 1cm wider than the actual belt so that it has a nice rim to it. Also, don't forget the little rectangle to go inside the buckle so it looks sort of realistic.
All you have to do now is glue it all on!

You can also write something on there like Hohoho 2014, or something like that as a little page marker which I skipped because I thought it looked better this way.

It takes 15 minutes but looks quite good so you should definatlet try it out
82 days!
